Mother-Daughter Charity Donates Feminine Hygiene Products

Members of NCL, Inc., Rocky Mountain Chapter dropping off donations at JFS. L to R: Shauna Sanidas, Bonnie List, Stephanie Fisher, and Amy Venturi

Bonnie List, a volunteer who has served as the liaison for boys team charity Mile High League for several years, was looking for a way to give to JFS through another local charity: NCL, Inc., Rocky Mountain Chapter. NCL is a group of mothers and daughters who have come together in a commitment to community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. Bonnie and her daughter, Lindsay, recently had the opportunity to do a fundraising event for JFS. “I wanted something that was in the forefront of the media and related to the girls and women of NCL,” says Bonnie.

After doing some research, the Lists informed the girls in the chapter that feminine hygiene products were very expensive and many families who couldn’t afford them were using anything they could find, such as rags, paper towels, and toilet paper. The chapter decided to collect these hygiene products for the JFS Weinberg Food Pantry.

They added the element of friendly competition and divided into groups by grade, and the winning class would get $200 to spend on the philanthropy of their choice. In total, the group donated 585 bags/boxes of feminine hygiene products, which filled 20 large garbage bags! Bonnie remarks, “I was overwhelmed by how everyone stepped up to give back and contribute to such a worthwhile cause. We are looking forward to doing more philanthropy events with JFS and giving back to the community.”

Thank you to the List family and all the NCL members who participated!
