What You Need to Know About the Reduction in SNAP Benefits

Coloradans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will see a reduction in their monthly benefit amount after February 2023. The temporary additional benefit amounts, called Emergency Allotment, were approved by Congress as part of the Public Health Emergency, which began in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reduction is not due to a change in your household.

We know this reduction may have a significant impact on families, and you may have questions. For general information about the SNAP program, visit cdhs.colorado.gov/snap. For FAQs, tips, and resources, visit cdhs.colorado.gov/snap-ea-ending.
