Partner Spotlight: Kaizen Food Rescue

Thai Nguyen of Kaizen Food Rescue at a Lunchbox Express site

We are proud to partner with Kaizen Food Rescue for our Lunchbox Express program at Molholm and Edgewater Elementary Schools this summer. Kaizen Food Rescue was created by a refugee in 2019. It is an approach to creating continuous improvement surrounding food security and food justice in the Denver metro area. Kaizen believes healthy and culturally relevant foods should be accessible to all.

Founder Thai Nguyen says, “JFS was there for my family and me when we needed them the most seven years ago. They provided us with fresh, healthy, quality food. That’s why Kaizen Food Rescue is partially modeled after the JFS Weinberg Food Pantry. Today, it’s such a full circle to be able to collaborate with JFS to increase food security for children in Jefferson County.”

So far this summer, Kaizen Food Rescue has provided 16,536 meals to children through the Lunchbox Express program!
