Preventing Homelessness for Wisdom

Wisdom Wormenor, father of two teenagers, owns a chauffeur company that caters to clients who travel from around the world to Colorado for business. When COVID-19 hit, Wisdom’s business experienced a dramatic decrease in clients, and he was worried about how he would pay his rent. One of his neighbors told him about Jewish Family Service (JFS) and he met with a case manager shortly after the pandemic began.

Fortunately, through our Emergency Assistance Program, JFS was able to provide rental assistance from June through October and utility assistance in May and October. Wisdom is also a regular client at the food pantry. “I’m so appreciative of the help JFS has provided and don’t know where I’d be without it,” Wisdom says. “I share the food I receive from the pantry with my friends since this time has been hard for everyone.”

While business is still slow, Wisdom is thankful that he hasn’t had to close it completely, as many of his friends have. He is optimistic that things will pick up again soon and is grateful for JFS’s assistance which has allowed him to keep his home and feed his family.

Help support others like Wisdom by donating to our Emergency Assistance Program.
